The fragrant dream of Shangri-La

Shangri-La's name comes from the legendary novel "The Lost Horizon" published by British writer James Hilton in 1933. It is a place depicted as a quiet and pleasant paradise, and the fragrance of Shangri-La Hotel is inspired by this.

In the ancient East, temples are often filled with the curled green smoke of sandalwood. The calm and mysterious aroma seems to lead people's hearts through the world and reach the other side of tranquility. Fragrance is a gift from rare animals. Its unique and long-lasting aroma was regarded as a precious thing in ancient times and was often used in the spices of the court or aristocrats. Bergamot, a citrus fruit native to Asia, has a fresh fruit aroma that is loved by Eastern courts and aristocrats and is often used for incense or making sachets.

When these elements are combined, the unique fragrance of Shangri-La Hotel is born. Based on vanilla, sandalwood and musk, combined with some unique aromas of bergamot, white tea and ginger, the white lemon oil, white tea and bergamot in the first note are intertwined to bring freshness and vitality; the middle note is cypress oil, hyacinth and other floral essential oils show the delicacy and fragrance of oriental flowers and trees; the final note of amber, vetiver and rosewood precipitate the mellow and deep nature of the years.
